What It Costs and Why

We can't give you a number on this page, because what a job costs depends on what's actually wrong, and that varies a lot across the towns we cover. A broken spring on a 1970s door with steel track is a different job than a bent panel on a newer insulated door, and a house built before 1970 often has hardware that nobody stocks anymore, which adds time to the visit.

What we can tell you: the housing stock across this area runs from 1938 up through 2006, with a lot of it built in the 1960s and 70s. Older doors tend to need spring and cable work; newer doors more often have opener or sensor trouble. The age of the house is usually the first thing that tells us what we're walking into before we even open the door.

One honest limit here, we don't quote firm prices over the phone sight unseen. A tech has to look at the spring size, the track condition, and whether the opener is original to the house before we can tell you what it actually needs. Anyone who gives you a number before seeing the door is guessing.

How the Visit Works

Every job starts from our shop in Hilliard, and the truck drives out from there, we don't keep crews stationed in other towns, so the drive time is part of the visit whether you're three miles away or eighteen. We book the closer calls tighter together where we can, but a same-day slot is easier to land if you're in Tuttle West or Far West than if you're out past Marysville or London.

On site, the tech checks the door, the spring, the track and the opener before touching anything, then tells you what's actually wrong and what it takes to fix it. If it's a straightforward torsion spring swap or a roller and cable job, that usually gets done the same visit. If a panel needs to be special-ordered because the door is an older or discontinued style, which happens more with houses from the 1970s and earlier, that part of the job has to wait on the supplier, not on us.

The Towns We Get To

Closest in, at 2 to 4 miles,

  • Tuttle West2–4 mi
  • Hayden Run2–4 mi
  • Far West2–4 mi
  • Sweetwater2–4 mi
  • Golfview Woods2–4 mi
  • Wexford-Thornapple2–4 mi

These sit in the newer end of the local housing range, so openers, sensors and cheaper composite panels cause more of the service calls than spring failures do.

A bit further, 6 to 8 miles out,

  • Olentangy West6–8 mi
  • Lincoln Village6–8 mi
  • Grandview Heights6–8 mi
  • Plain City6–8 mi
  • Worthington6–8 mi

This band mixes eras more, and it's where you start seeing the classic 1960s-70s torsion setups that account for a lot of our spring and cable calls.

  • West Jefferson10–16 mi
  • Powell10–16 mi
  • Bexley10–16 mi
  • Whitehall10–16 mi
  • Orient10–16 mi
  • Obetz10–16 mi

Bexley and Whitehall in particular sit in older, established neighborhoods where original hardware from the 1970s or earlier is common, and that's usually a heavier repair, sometimes a straight-up replacement makes more sense than patching it.

Farthest out, 16 to 20 miles,

  • Ostrander16–20 mi
  • Marysville16–20 mi
  • London16–20 mi
  • Blacklick Estates16–20 mi
  • Milford Center16–20 mi
  • Lockbourne16–20 mi
  • Commercial Point16–20 mi
  • Groveport16–20 mi
  • Galena16–20 mi

We still make these calls, but plan on a narrower same-day window given the drive.

Service Area FAQs

Do you have a location in any of these towns?

No. We're based in Hilliard and drive out to every town listed here, we don't have satellite offices or crews stationed elsewhere. The drive time is built into scheduling, especially for the towns 15 miles or more from Hilliard.

Why do older houses need different repairs?

A lot of the housing in this area was built in the 1960s and 70s, and those doors often run on torsion hardware and spring sizes that have changed since. That means more time sourcing the right part compared to a door built in the last decade or two.

Can I get a same-day appointment if I'm further out?

Sometimes, but it's tighter. Towns like London, Marysville, or Galena sit 17 to 20 miles from our shop, so same-day slots there depend on what else is already booked that day. Closer towns like Tuttle West or Hayden Run are easier to fit in.

Will you give me a price before seeing the door?

Not a firm one. Spring size, track condition, and whether the opener is original all change the job, and we won't know those until a tech looks at it. We'll walk you through the actual cause and the fix once we're on site.
